About the Owners – Mike and Marta Girone purchased The John L. Stam House in 1999 after falling in love with the bones of a once majestic and historically important home nearly ready to be condemned. They began restoration immediately, doing much of the work themselves. The authentically restored home now incorporates their many antiques gathered while living overseas as well as the hospitality of the variety of cultures and countries they have lived in.
Both Mike and Marta brought their background as US Air Force engineers to the rescue of this historic property. They bring their love of food and entertainment to their guests, with Mike frequently sharing his love of brewing beer and Marta incorporating her New Orleans heritage in many of her dishes.
