From the North: (Philadelphia, Wilmington, New York)
Drivers traveling south on I-95 should take the Rt. 1 South/Christiana Mall exit. DE Rt. 1 is the required route, not Rt. 1 that starts in PA. Drivers should follow Rt. 1 South to the Rt. 299 exit for Odessa/Middletown, then follow Rt. 299 through Middletown to Rt. 301 South. Drivers should turn left onto Rt. 301 South and continue to the Chestertown/Rt. 290 South exit. Rt. 290 South leads to Rt. 213 South. Drivers should continue on Rt. 213 South into Chestertown, go through 5 traffic lights, and pass Washington College on the right. Guests can learn more about the J L Stam House before planning their stay.
Our historic Bed and Breakfast is located 2-1/2 blocks south of the college, also on the right hand side.
From the West: (DC, Baltimore, Annapolis)
Travel East across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge on Rt. 50/Rt. 301. Approximately 9 miles after the bridge, follow Rt. 301 North toward Wilmington. After 6 miles, take exit 213 North Centreville/Chestertown. Continue for 19 miles on Rt. 213 North. This will bring you across the Chester River bridge into Chestertown. Go through 3 traffic lights (one is a flashing light at the fire station).

From the South: (Norfolk, Virginia Beach)
Cross the Chesapeake Bay to the Eastern Shore on the Bridge/Tunnel. Travel North on Rt. 13 North to Rt. 50 West. Continue on Rt. 50 West past Easton to Rt. 213 North. Turn right onto Rt. 213. Continue for approximately 30 miles. This will bring you across the Chester River bridge into Chestertown. Go through 3 traffic lights (one is a flashing light at the fire station).
